Verse 1: Let God arise, and let His enemies be scattered, and let those who hate Him flee from before His face.

Verse 2: As smoke vanishes, so let them vanish, as wax melts before the fire.

Verse 3: So shall the sinners perish from the face of God. And let the righteous be glad.

For this holy house, and for those who enter it with faith, reverence and the fear of God, let us pray to the Lord.

For our Archbishop (name), for the honoured order of presbyters, for the diaconate in Christ, for all the clergy and the people, let us pray to the Lord.

Ὑπὲρ τοῦ εὐσεβοῦς ἡμῶν γένους, τοῦ Προέδρου, πάσης ἀρχῆς καὶ ἐξουσίας ἐν τῷ κράτει ἡμῶν, καὶ τοῦ κατὰ ξηράν, θάλασσαν, καὶ ἀέρα φιλοχρίστου ἡμῶν στρατοῦ, τοῦ Κυρίου δεηθῶμεν.

For our country, the president, and all those in public service, let us pray to the Lord.

Ὑπὲρ τῆς Ἁγίας τοῦ Χριστοῦ Μεγάλης Ἐκκλησίας, τῆς Ἱερᾶς ἡμῶν Ἀρχιεπισκοπῆς, [τῆς Ἱερᾶς Μητροπόλεως ταύτης,] τῆς πόλεως καὶ κοινότητος ταύτης, πάσης πόλεως, χώρας καὶ τῶν πίστει οἰκούντων ἐν αὐταῖς, τοῦ Κυρίου δεηθῶμεν.

For this city, for every city, town and village, and for the faithful who dwell in them, let us pray to the Lord.

Ὑπὲρ εὐκρασίας ἀέρων, εὐφορίας τῶν καρπῶν τῆς γῆς καὶ καιρῶν εἰρηνικῶν τοῦ Κυρίου δεηθῶμεν.

For favourable weather, an abundance of the fruits of the earth, and temperate seasons, let us pray to the Lord.

Ὑπὲρ πλεόντων, ὁδοιπορούντων, νοσούντων, καμνόντων, αἰχμαλώτων καὶ τῆς σωτηρίας αὐτῶν τοῦ Κυρίου δεηθῶμεν.

For those who travel by land, air or water, for the sick, the suffering, for those in captivity, and for their safety and salvation, let us pray to the Lord.

Ὑπὲρ τοῦ ῥυσθῆναι ἡμᾶς ἀπὸ πάσης θλίψεως, ὀργῆς, κινδύνου καὶ ἀνάγκης, τοῦ Κυρίου δεηθῶμεν.

For our deliverance from all affliction, wrath, danger and constraint, let us pray to the Lord.

Help us, save us, have mercy on us, and keep us, O God, by your grace.

Commemorating our all-holy, pure, most blessed and glorious Lady, Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary, with all the Saints, let us entrust ourselves and one another and our whole life to Christ our God.

Ἐὰν ἀνομίας παρατηρήσῃς, Κύριε Κύριε, τίς ὑποστήσεται; ὅτι παρὰ σοὶ ὁ ἱλασμός ἐστιν.

If You, O Lord, should mark transgression, O Lord, who would stand? For there is forgiveness with You. [SAAS]

Τῷ σῷ Σταυρῷ Χριστὲ Σωτήρ, θανάτου κράτος λέλυται, καὶ διαβόλου ἡ πλάνη κατήργηται· γένος δὲ ἀνθρώπων, πίστει σῳζόμενον, ὕμνον σοι καθʼ ἑκάστην προσφέρει.

By your Cross, Christ Saviour, death’s might has been abolished, the devil’s deception destroyed, while the human race, saved by faith, each evening offers you its hymn. [Lash]

Ὅτι παρὰ τῷ Κυρίῳ τὸ ἔλεος καὶ πολλὴ παρʼ αὐτῷ λύτρωσις, καὶ αὐτὸς λυτρώσεται τὸν Ἰσραὴλ ἐκ πασῶν τῶν ἀνομιῶν αὐτοῦ.

For with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption; and He shall redeem Israel from all his transgressions. [SAAS]

We praise the Saviour who took flesh from the Virgin; for he was crucified for us and rose on the third day, granting us his great mercy. [Lash]

Ὅτι ἐκραταιώθη τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ ἐφʼ ἡμᾶς, καὶ ἡ ἀλήθεια τοῦ Κυρίου μένει εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.

For His mercy rules over us; and the truth of the Lord endures forever. [SAAS]

Τοῖς ἐν ᾅδῃ καταβάς, Χριστὸς εὐηγγελίσατο· Θαρσεῖτε, λέγων, νῦν νενίκηκα· Ἐγώ εἰμι ἡ ἀνάστασις· ἐγὼ ὑμᾶς ἀνάξω, λύσας θανάτου τὰς πύλας.

Going down to those in Hell, Christ proclaimed the good tidings, saying, 'Be of good courage; now have I conquered! I am the Resurrection; I will bring you up, abolishing the gates of death'. [Lash]

Οἱ ἀναξίως ἑστῶτες, ἐν τῷ ἀχράντῳ σου οἴκῳ, ἑσπερινὸν ὕμνον ἀναμέλπομεν, ἐκ βαθέων κραυγάζοντες· Χριστὲ ὁ Θεός, ὁ φωτίσας τὸν κόσμον, τῇ τριημέρῳ ἀναστάσει σου, ἐξελοῦ τὸν λαόν σου, ἐκ χειρὸς τῶν ἐχθρῶν σου, Φιλάνθρωπε.

We who stand unworthily in your most pure house sing an evening hymn, as we cry out of the depths, 'Christ God, who enlightened the world by your Resurrection on the third day, deliver your people from the hand of your foes, O Lover of mankind'. [Lash]

Πῶς μὴ θαυμάσωμεν, τὸν θεανδρικόν σου τόκον πανσεβάσμιε; πεῖραν γὰρ ἀνδρὸς μὴ δεξαμένη Πανάμωμε, ἔτεκες ἀπάτορα Υἱὸν ἐν σαρκί, τὸν πρὸ αἰώνων ἐκ Πατρὸς γεννηθέντα ἀμήτορα, μηδαμῶς ὑπομείναντα τροπήν, ἢ φυρμόν, ἢ διαίρεσιν, ἀλλʼ ἑκατέρας οὐσίας τὴν ἰδιότητα, σώαν φυλάξαντα. Διὸ μητροπάρθενε Δέσποινα, αὐτὸν ἱκέτευε σωθῆναι, τὰς ψυχὰς τῶν ὀρθοδόξως, Θεοτόκον ὁμολογούντων σε.

How should we not marvel at your Offspring, who is both God and man, all-honoured one? For without knowing man, O all-blameless, you gave birth in the flesh to a Son without father, begotten from the Father before the ages without mother, in no way undergoing change, or mixture or separation, but preserving intact the identity of either nature. Therefore, Sovereign Lady, Virgin Mother, implore him that the souls may be saved of those who with right belief acknowledge you as Mother of God. [Lash]
