Τῇ ἀνατραφείσῃ ἐν τῷ Ναῷ, εἰς τὰ Ἅγια τῶν Ἁγίων, τῇ περιβεβλημένῃ τὴν πίστιν καὶ τὴν σοφίαν, καὶ τὴν ἄμεμπτον παρθενίαν, ὁ Ἀρχιστράτηγος Γαβριήλ, προσέφερεν οὐρανόθεν, τὸν ἀσπασμὸν καὶ τὸ χαῖρε. Χαῖρε εὐλογημένη, χαῖρε δεδοξασμένη, ὁ Κύριος μετὰ σοῦ.	To you who were raised in the Temple, in the Holy of Holies, and who were clothed in faith and wisdom and measureless virginity, the Supreme Commander Gabriel from heaven brought the salutation, “Rejoice”; “Rejoice, O blessed Maiden! Rejoice, O glorified one! The Lord is with you.” [SD]

Ὡς τοῦ Κριτοῦ παρόντος, μερίμνησον ψυχή, καὶ τῆς φρικτῆς ἡμέρας, τὴν ὥραν ἐννοοῦ· ἡ γὰρ κρίσις ἀνίλεώς ἐστι, τοῖς μὴ πράξασιν ἔλεος· διὸ πρὸ τέλους βόησον· Φεῖσαί μου Σωτήρ, μόνος γὰρ ὑπάρχεις φιλάνθρωπος.	As though the Judge were present, be anxious, my soul, and think on the moment of the dread day; for the judgement is merciless for those who have not acted with mercy; therefore before the end cry out: Spare me, O Saviour, for you alone love humankind. Ἕως πότε ψυχή μου ζῇς ἀμελῶς; ἕως πότε ῥαθύμως διατελεῖς; τοῦ ὕπνου ἐξεγέρθητι, ῥαθυμίας ταλαίπωρε, καὶ κατὰ νοῦν λαβοῦσα, τὰς πράξεις σου στέναξον, καὶ τοῦ δικαίου φρῖξον, Κριτοῦ τὴν ἀπόφασιν. Τί ἀπολογήσῃ, ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ὥρᾳ; ἢ πῶς τῆς μελλούσης, λυτρωθήσῃ φλογώσεως, ἀδιόρθωτος μένουσα; βόησον πρὸ τέλους τῷ Κριτῇ· Τῶν πταισμάτων δός μοι Σῶτερ ἄφεσιν· σὺ γὰρ μόνος ὑπάρχεις μακρόθυμος.	Just how long, my soul, will you live in heedlessness? Just how long will spend your time in idleness? For herein do the armies of Angels greatly rejoice, and with them the hosts of the Righteous are cheerful, as the victorious Martyrs are commemorated. Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy; and according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgression. Wash me thoroughly from my lawlessness and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my lawlessness, and my sin is always before me. Against You only have I sinned and done evil in Your sight; that You may be justified in Your words, and overcome when You are judged. For behold, I was conceived in transgressions, and in sins my mother bore me. Behold, You love truth; You showed me the unknown and secret things of Your wisdom. You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; You shall wash me, and I will be made whiter than snow. For if You desired sacrifice, I would give it; You will not be pleased with whole burnt offerings. A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit, a broken and humbled heart God will not despise. Do good, O Lord, in Your good pleasure to Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built; then You will be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, with offerings and whole burnt offerings; then shall they offer young bulls on Your altar.
