God is the Lord, and He revealed Himself to us. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. [SAAS] |
Στίχ. αʹ. Ἐξομολογεῖσθε τῷ Κυρίῳ καὶ ἐπικαλεῖσθε τὸ ὄνομα τὸ ἅγιον αὐτοῦ. |
Verse 1: Give thanks to the Lord and call upon His holy name. |
Στίχ. βʹ. Πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐκύκλωσάν με, καὶ τῷ ὀνόματι Κυρίου ἠμυνάμην αὐτούς. |
Verse 2: All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I defended myself against them. |
Στίχ. γʹ. Παρὰ Κυρίου ἐγένετο αὕτη καὶ ἔστι θαυμαστὴ ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς ἡμῶν. |
Verse 3: And this came about from the Lord, and it is wonderful in our eyes. |

O holy Apostle Jude, make intercession to our merciful God, that He grant our souls forgiveness of offenses. [SD] |

Ῥάβδον δυνάμεως κεκτημένοι, τὸν Σταυρὸν τοῦ Υἱοῦ σου Θεοτόκε, ἐν αὐτῷ καταβαλοῦμεν, τῶν ἐχθρῶν τὰ φρυάγματα, οἱ πόθῳ σε ἀπαύστως μεγαλύνοντες. |
Having gained the Cross of your Son, O Mother of God, as a rod of power, with it we shall cast down the ramparts of the foes as with love we ceaselessly magnify you. [Lash] |
Ἀναγινώσκεται τὸ οἰκεῖον Κάθισμα τοῦ Ψαλτηρίου, ἤτοι Κάθισμα 19. Μεθʼ ὃ ἡ μικρὰ Συναπτή. |

Commemorating our all-holy, pure, most blessed and glorious Lady, Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary, with all the Saints, let us entrust ourselves and one another and our whole life to Christ our God. |

For yours is the dominion, and yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and to the ages of ages. |

Lord, save your people, and bless your inheritance, granting to faithful Christians victories over their enemies, and protecting your commonwealth by your Cross. [Lash] |
Στίχ. Ὑψοῦτε Κύριον τὸν Θεὸν ἡμῶν καὶ προσκυνεῖτε τῷ ὑποποδίῳ τῶν ποδῶν αὐτοῦ, ὅτι ἅγιός ἐστι. |
Verse: Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at the footstool of His feet; for He is holy. |

Σταυρωθέντος σου Χριστέ, ἀνῃρέθη ἡ τυραννίς, ἐπατήθη ἡ δύναμις τοῦ ἐχθροῦ· οὔτε γὰρ Ἄγγελος, οὐκ ἄνθρωπος, ἀλλʼ αὐτὸς ὁ Κύριος ἔσωσας ἡμᾶς. Δόξα σοι. |
When you were crucified, O Christ, the tyranny of the foe was abolished and his power trampled on, for it was not an Angel or a mortal but yourself, Lord, who saved us. Glory to you! [Lash] |

You wounded the foe by your Cross, O Saviour; scatter their heresies like dust; exalt the horn of your honoured Church; halt the storm that rages against us, O Lord, and give peace to the multitudes of the Orthodox at the prayers of her who bore you. [Lash] |

Παράδεισον ἠνέῳξας Σωτήρ, τῷ πίστει προσελθόντι σοι ληστῇ· καὶ τρυφῆς κατηξιώθη, ὁμολογῶν σοι, Μνήσθητί μου Κύριε. We venerate the wood of Your Cross, O humane One, * for You, the Life of all, were nailed to it. * O Savior, You opened Paradise to the Robber who approached You with faith. * He was counted worthy of delight, confessing You, Remember me, O Lord. * Accept us as You accepted him, * for we now cry, We all have sinned * against Your compassion. Do not abandon us. [SD] |

Τὸ ὅπλον τοῦ Σταυροῦ, ἐν πολέμοις ἐδείχθη, ποτὲ τῷ εὐσεβεῖ, Βασιλεῖ Κωνσταντίνῳ, ἀήττητον τρόπαιον, κατʼ ἐχθρῶν διὰ πίστεως. Τοῦτο τρέμουσιν, αἱ ἐναντίαι δυνάμεις. Τοῦτο γέγονε, καὶ τῶν πιστῶν σωτηρία, καὶ Παύλου τὸ καύχημα. |
The weapon of the Cross was once revealed in war to the devout King Constantine through Faith as an invincible trophy against his foes. The hostile powers tremble at it; it has become the salvation of the faithful and the boast of Paul. [Lash] |

Ὁρῶσά σε νεκρόν, καὶ γυμνὸν ἐπὶ ξύλου, τιτρώσκομαι δεινῶς, καὶ δονοῦμαι τὰ σπλάγχνα, Υἱέ μου ὑπεράγαθε, καὶ Θεὲ παντοδύναμε, ἡ πανάμωμος, ἐν στεναγμοῖς ἀνεβόα· ἣν ὑμνήσωμεν, ὡς τοῦ Κυρίου Μητέρα, καὶ πίστει δοξάσωμεν. |
’seeing you dead and naked on a tree I am grievously wounded and I am shaken to the depths of my being, my Son and my God, supremely good and all-powerful', cried out the All-blameless in her distress. As Mother of the Lord let us sing her praise and glorify her. [Lash] |

Σταυρῷ προσηλωθείς, ἑκουσίως Οἰκτίρμον, ἐθέωσας ἡμῶν, τὴν φθαρεῖσαν οὐσίαν, καὶ τὸν ἀνθρωπόλεθρον, ἐθανάτωσας δράκοντα, ἀλλὰ στήριξον, ὀρθοδοξίᾳ τὸν κόσμον καὶ κατάβαλε, αἱρετικῶν τὰς ἐπάρσεις, Σταυρῷ τῷ τιμίῳ σου. |
Willingly nailed to the Cross, O Compassionate, you made our corrupted nature divine, and put to death the dragon that destroys humankind. But buttress the world by orthodoxy and put down the uprisings of heresy by your precious Cross. [Lash] |

Ἀθλήσεως καύχημα, καὶ στεφάνων ἀξίωμα, οἱ ἔνδοξοι Ἀθλοφόροι, περιβέβληνταί σε Κύριε· καρτερίᾳ γὰρ αἰκισμῶν, τοὺς ἀνόμους ἐτροπώσαντο, καὶ δυνάμει θεϊκῇ, ἐξ οὐρανοῦ τὴν νίκην ἐδέξαντο. Αὐτῶν ταῖς ἱκεσίαις, ἐλευθέρωσον τοῦ ἀοράτου ἐχθροῦ Σωτήρ, καὶ σῶσόν με. |
O Lord, You are the pride of the contest, the very dignity of the laurel crowns, which the glorious prize-winning Martyrs have put on as a garment. For by their endurance under torture they put the lawless men to flight. And by divine power from heaven they received the victory. Through their supplications set me free from the invisible enemies, O Savior, and save me. [SD] |

The spotless Ewe-lamb, seeing the Lamb and Shepherd hanging dead upon the tree, cried out with tears, and lamenting as a mother aid, 'How shall I hymn your condescension, my Son, which is beyond understanding, and your voluntary sufferings, my God supremely good?' [Lash] |

Ῥῦσαί με ἐξ αἱμάτων, ὁ Θεός, ὁ Θεὸς τῆς σωτηρίας μου· ἀγαλλιάσεται ἡ γλῶσσά μου τὴν δικαιοσύνην σου. Κύριε, τὰ χείλη μου ἀνοίξεις καὶ τὸ στόμα μου ἀναγγελεῖ τὴν αἴνεσίν σου. Ὅτι εἰ ἠθέλησας θυσίαν, ἔδωκα ἄν· ὁλοκαυτώματα οὐκ εὐδοκήσεις. Θυσία τῷ Θεῷ πνεῦμα συντετριμμένον· καρδίαν συντετριμμένην καὶ τεταπεινωμένην ὁ Θεὸς οὐκ ἐξουδενώσει. Ἀγάθυνον, Κύριε, ἐν τῇ εὐδοκίᾳ σου τὴν Σιὼν καὶ οἰκοδομηθήτω τὰ τείχη Ἰερουσαλήμ. Τότε εὐδοκήσεις θυσίαν δικαιοσύνης, ἀναφορὰν καὶ ὁλοκαυτώματα. Τότε ἀνοίσουσιν ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριόν σου μόσχους. |
Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy; and according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgression. Wash me thoroughly from my lawlessness and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my lawlessness, and my sin is always before me. Against You only have I sinned and done evil in Your sight; that You may be justified in Your words, and overcome when You are judged. For behold, I was conceived in transgressions, and in sins my mother bore me. Behold, You love truth; You showed me the unknown and secret things of Your wisdom. You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; You shall wash me, and I will be made whiter than snow. You shall make me hear joy and gladness; my bones that were humbled shall greatly rejoice. Turn Your face from my sins, and blot out all my transgressions. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with Your guiding Spirit. I will teach transgressors Your ways, and the ungodly shall turn back to You. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall greatly rejoice in Your righteousness. O Lord, You shall open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise. For if You desired sacrifice, I would give it; You will not be pleased with whole burnt offerings. A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit, a broken and humbled heart God will not despise. Do good, O Lord, in Your good pleasure to Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built; then You will be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, with offerings and whole burnt offerings; then shall they offer young bulls on Your altar. You sprang forth from a root that was noble, O wise one, * a branch given by God, O eye-witness Apostle * and brother of Christ our God, and His preacher, O blessed Jude, * feeding all the world with sweetest fruits of your sayings, * as a mystic of the Master’s grace, ever teaching * the Orthodox faith of God.
