As I call on you grant to me * your compassion’s depths, let me know your tenderness, * you who bore the Saviour of all those * who now lift their voices and who sing your praise. [Lash]

Ἀπολαύοντες, Πάναγνε, τῶν σῶν δωρημάτων εὐχαριστήριον, ἀναμέλπομεν ἐφύμνιον, οἱ γινώσκοντές σε Θεομήτορα.	All-Immaculate Virgin, * we acknowledge you as the Mother of our God * as we offer you our hymns of thanks, * for your many gracious gifts which we enjoy. [Lash]

Τὴν ἐπανθούσαν Μαρκέλλα σεμνή, ἔχουσα ἀθλήσεως ἤνυσας, δρόμον διόπερ, νῦν παρίστασαι, Θεῷ οὑ ἐρως σὴν κατέφλεξεν ψυχὴν καὶ καρδίαν ἀοίδιμε.	With a mind undisturbed by the vanity of the world, you served the one who had come to save the whole world from error. [Lash]

Θάλλασαν ἐξέφυγες τὴν τῶν παθῶν, τῶν πολυταράχων καὶ ἔδραμες ἐν τῷ λιμένι, τῷ ἀκλύστῳ τοῦ Θεοῦ, ἔνθα μαρτύρων τάγματα, πέλουσι Μαρκέλλα πανέντιμε.	As you washed the tomb of Life with tears, Mary, you met an Angel and saw him proclaim Christ’s Resurrection. [Lash]

Ἰὸν τὸν τοῦ ὄφεως, ὅπερ Ἀδάμ, πόθῳ τῆς θεώσεως πέποκε, Μάρτυς Μαρκέλλα, μὴ πιοῦσα ὡς σοφή, αὐτὸν πανσόφως ᾔσχυνας, ὅθεν σοῦ τὴν μνήμην γεραίρομεν.	Your heart was blameless in Christ’s statutes, and you longed for him alone, the one fair in beauty, O worthy of praise. [Lash]

Κρήνη σὲ γινώσκομεν, Μαρκέλλα παμμακάριστε, σῴζουσα τοὺς δίψει ἐκκαέντας, ὅθεν σὺν πόθῳ τῇ σῇ σορῷ ἑστηκώς, δέχομαι τὴν ἴασιν παθῶν, ψυχῆς τε καὶ σώματος, ὡς γλυκύῤῥοα νάματα.	The foremother, seeing the one who tricked her by words and exiled her from Paradise of old trampled on by holy women who had gained a will of courage, rejoices with them eternally. [Lash]

Λιμένα ἀτάραχον οἱ ἐν πελάγει πάνσεμνε, ὄντες τῆς ζωῆς τῆς ἐπικηροῦ, ἔχομεν πάντες, τὸν σὸν Μαρκέλλα ναόν, ὅνπερ σοι ἐδείματο λαός, πόθῳ, ὁ χριστώνυμος, εἰς σὴν δόξαν καὶ αἴνεσιν.	Wounded with longing for his sweet love, you bring sweet spices to the one who breathes life into all, now slain and lying in a tomb, holy Mary Magdalen, and pour out the fragrant scent of tears. Μώμους ἀπεδίωξας, ὁλοτελὼς ἀοίδιμε, ἐκ τῆς καθαρᾶς σοῦ διανοίας, οὓς ὁ ἀντάρτης αὕτη ἀνέβαλε, καὶ γέγονας, ἔμψυχος ναός, ὅνπερ εἰσωκίσατο, ἡ Τριὰς ἡ ἀείφωτος.	After the divine Passion, after the dread Resurrection of the Saviour you hurried to and fro, proclaiming the holy word, and as a Disciple of the Word catching many who had been deceived by ignorance, glorious Saint. Ἑώρακε πάλαι σε, ὡς θεῖον τόμον Ἄχραντε, ἔνθεος προφήτης, ἐν ᾧ λόγος, ἐγράφη ἔνδον, πατρὸς εἰς κόσμου χαρὰν καὶ ἔσωσε πάντας ὡς Θεός, πίστει προσκυνοῦντάς σου τὴν ἀπόῤῥητον γέννησιν.	The one who through his measureless mercy was well pleased to be born from you, all-holy Maiden, sets upright me, who have fallen into the tangled gulfs of sin. Implore him that those who with faith sing your praise may be rescued from every harm. [Lash]

Νικᾶται δύναμις ἅπασα, δαιμόνων καὶ ἐχθρῶν τῇ ἰσχύϊ σου, ὅθεν δεόμεθα τὴν νῆσον πᾶσαν περισῷζε, ἡμῶν Μαρκέλλα ἔνδοξε, ταῖς πρεσβείαις σου.	With the dew of your words, honoured Saint, you dispelled the fierce heat of the despair of the Disciples as you cried out: Christ has been raised; Life has appeared; the radiant Sun has blazed forth. Ξενίζει πάντας ἀοίδιμε, τὸ ὕδωρ τὸ ἐκ πέτρας χεόμενον, ἥ σε ἐδέξατο, καὶ νῦν τὸ σῶμα καλύπτει σου, τέρατα καὶ σημεῖα τελοῦν ἑκάστοτε.	See, Mary, worthy of praise, your feast filled with light has shone out, giving light to all who on it faithfully sing your praise, and chasing away the darkness of the abuse of evil demons. [Lash]

Ὁ διαῤῥήξας καὶ σώσας σε, τὴν πέτραν ἐκ τοῦ ἄγους ἀμόλυντον, πατρῴας μίξεως, Θεὸς Μαρκέλλα ἐδόξασε, θαυμάτων ἐνεργείαις καὶ ἐμεγάλυνεν.	Markella, God split the rock apart * and saved you from the odious outrage of * paternal intercourse. * And He has also now glorified * and magnified you, working abundant miracles. [SD]

Ἡ μόνη πάντων βοήθεια, βοήθησον ἡμῖν κινδυνεύουσι, καὶ χεῖρα ὄρεξον, καὶ πρὸς λιμένα ἐμβίβασον, τῆς σωτηρίας Κόρη θεοχαρίτωτε.	You have appeared, O all-blameless, as a spiritual sanctuary and mercy seat that may not be touched, lampstand formed of light and bridge leading over to God those who sing your praise as Mother of God.
