God is the Lord, and He revealed Himself to us. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. [SAAS] |
Στίχ. αʹ. Ἐξομολογεῖσθε τῷ Κυρίῳ καὶ ἐπικαλεῖσθε τὸ ὄνομα τὸ ἅγιον αὐτοῦ. |
Verse 1: Give thanks to the Lord and call upon His holy name. |
Στίχ. βʹ. Πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐκύκλωσάν με, καὶ τῷ ὀνόματι Κυρίου ἠμυνάμην αὐτούς. |
Verse 2: All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I defended myself against them. |
Στίχ. γʹ. Παρὰ Κυρίου ἐγένετο αὕτη καὶ ἔστι θαυμαστὴ ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς ἡμῶν. |

Μετεμορφώθης ἐν τῷ ὄρει Χριστὲ ὁ Θεός, δείξας τοῖς Μαθηταῖς σου τὴν δόξαν σου, καθὼς ἠδύναντο. Λάμψον καὶ ἡμῖν τοῖς ἁμαρτωλοῖς, τὸ φῶς σου τὸ ἀΐδιον, πρεσβείαις τῆς Θεοτόκου, φωτοδότα δόξα σοι. |
You were transfigured on the mountain, O Christ God, showing your disciples your glory, as far as they could bear it. At the prayers of the Mother of God make your everlasting light shine also on us sinners, Giver of light, glory to you. [Lash] |

Commemorating our all-holy, pure, most blessed and glorious Lady, Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary, with all the Saints, let us entrust ourselves and one another and our whole life to Christ our God. |

Μετεμορφώθης Ἰησοῦ, ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος τὸ Θαβώρ, καὶ νεφέλη φωτεινή, ἐφηπλωμένη ὡς σκηνή, τοὺς Ἀποστόλους τῇ δόξῃ σου κατεκάλυψεν· ὅθεν καὶ εἰς γῆν ἐναπέβλεπον, μὴ φέροντες ὁρᾶν τὴν λαμπρότητα, τῆς ἀπροσίτου δόξης τοῦ προσώπου σου, ἄναρχε Λόγε Χριστὲ ὁ Θεός. You were transfigured on the Mount * Tabor, O Jesus our Lord, * and a shining cloud spread out * like a tabernacle * completely covering the Apostles with Your glory. * Whereupon they turned their gaze toward the ground, * unable to endure to see the radiance * of Your face’s unapproachable glory, * O unoriginate Savior Christ. * Our God who then shined Your light upon them, * do also illuminate our souls. Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy; and according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgression. Wash me thoroughly from my lawlessness and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my lawlessness, and my sin is always before me. Against You only have I sinned and done evil in Your sight; that You may be justified in Your words, and overcome when You are judged. For behold, I was conceived in transgressions, and in sins my mother bore me. Behold, You love truth; You showed me the unknown and secret things of Your wisdom. You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; You shall wash me, and I will be made whiter than snow. You shall make me hear joy and gladness; my bones that were humbled shall greatly rejoice. Turn Your face from my sins, and blot out all my transgressions. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. O believers, let us come together and sing songs in honor of Lawrence, the medaled Martyr and mystic of divine secrets, who shone in the world as an fixed luminary, so that by his intercessions we may be delivered from our terrible sins. Let us purify our minds of all impurity, and we shall see Christ, who greatly glorified him. For he competed strongly, and he said, * “No one will separate me from the love of Christ.” [SD] |

On August 10 we commemorate the holy Martyrs Laurence the Archdeacon, Sixtus, Pope of Rome, and Hyppolitus. |

Devout St. Heron the Philosopher reposed in peace. |
