Θεὸς Κύριος καὶ ἐπέφανεν ἡμῖν. Εὐλογημένος ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἐν ὀνόματι Κυρίου. |
God is the Lord, and He revealed Himself to us. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. [SAAS] |
Στίχ. αʹ. Ἐξομολογεῖσθε τῷ Κυρίῳ καὶ ἐπικαλεῖσθε τὸ ὄνομα τὸ ἅγιον αὐτοῦ. |
Verse 1: Give thanks to the Lord and call upon His holy name. |
Στίχ. βʹ. Πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐκύκλωσάν με, καὶ τῷ ὀνόματι Κυρίου ἠμυνάμην αὐτούς. |
Verse 2: All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I defended myself against them. |
Στίχ. γʹ. Παρὰ Κυρίου ἐγένετο αὕτη καὶ ἔστι θαυμαστὴ ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς ἡμῶν. |
Verse 3: And this came about from the Lord, and it is wonderful in our eyes. |

Καὶ τρόπων μέτοχος, καὶ θρόνων διάδοχος, τῶν Ἀποστόλων γενόμενος, τὴν πρᾶξιν εὗρες Θεόπνευστε, εἰς θεωρίας ἐπίβασιν· διὰ τοῦτο τὸν λόγον τῆς ἀληθείας ὀρθοτομῶν, καὶ τῇ πίστει ἐνήθλησας μέχρις αἵματος, Ἱερομάρτυς Βαβύλα· πρέσβευε Χριστῷ τῷ Θεῷ, σωθῆναι τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν. |
Becoming a partner with the Apostles in way of life and successor to their thrones, O God-inspired Saint, in the active life you found an entrance to contemplation. Hence you rightly expounded the word of truth, and you shed your blood in struggling for the faith, O Hieromartyr Babylas. Intercede with Christ our God, beseeching Him to save our souls. [SD] |

As we celebrate the memory of Your Prophet Moses, through him we importune You, O Lord, that You save our souls. [SD] |

Ὑπερδεδοξασμένη ὑπάρχεις, Θεοτόκε Παρθένε, ὑμνοῦμέν σε· διὰ γάρ τοῦ Σταυροῦ τοῦ Υἱοῦ σου, κατεβλήθη ὁ ᾅδης, καὶ ὁ θάνατος τέθνηκε· νεκρωθέντες ἀνέστημεν, καὶ ζωῆς ἠξιώθημεν· τὸν Παράδεισον ἐλάβομεν, τὴν ἀρχαίαν ἀπόλαυσιν· διὸ εὐχαριστοῦντες δοξολογοῦμεν, ὡς κραταιὸν Χριστὸν τὸν Θεὸν ἡμῶν, καὶ μόνον πολυέλεον. |
You are highly glorified, Virgin Mother of God, and we sing your praise, for through the Cross of your Son Hell has been overthrown, Death has died, we who were dead have risen and been granted life. We have received Paradise, our ancient delight, therefore with thanksgiving we glorify Christ our God as mighty and alone full of mercy. [Lash] |

Commemorating our all-holy, pure, most blessed and glorious Lady, Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary, with all the Saints, let us entrust ourselves and one another and our whole life to Christ our God. |

Ἐξηγόρασας ἡμᾶς ἐκ τῆς κατάρας τοῦ νόμου, τῷ τιμίῳ σου αἵματι· τῷ Σταυρῷ προσηλωθείς, καὶ τῇ λόγχῃ κεντηθείς, τὴν ἀθανασίαν ἐπήγασας ἀνθρώποις. Σωτὴρ ἡμῶν δόξα σοι. |
You redeemed us from the curse of the law by your precious blood; nailed to the Cross and pierced by the lance, you became a source of immortality for all. Our Saviour, glory to you. [Lash] |
Στίχ. Ὑψοῦτε Κύριον τὸν Θεὸν ἡμῶν καὶ προσκυνεῖτε τῷ ὑποποδίῳ τῶν ποδῶν αὐτοῦ, ὅτι ἅγιός ἐστι. |
Verse: Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at the footstool of His feet; for He is holy. |

Ὁ ὑψωθεὶς ἐν τῷ Σταυρῷ ἑκουσίως, τῇ ἐπωνύμῳ σου καινῇ πολιτείᾳ, τοὺς οἰκτιρμούς σου δώρησαι, Χριστὲ ὁ Θεός. Εὔφρανον ἐν τῇ δυνάμει σου, τοὺς πιστοὺς βασιλεῖς ἡμῶν, νίκας χορηγῶν αὐτοῖς, κατὰ τῶν πολεμίων· τὴν συμμαχίαν ἔχοιεν τὴν σήν, ὅπλον εἰρήνης, ἀήττητον τρόπαιον. |
Lifted up on the Cross of your own will, grant your mercies, O Christ God, to the new commonwealth that bears your name. Make your faithful people glad by your power, giving them victory over their enemies. May they have your help in battle: a weapon of peace, an invincible trophy. [Lash] |

Τὴν ἐθελούσιον σφαγὴν τοῦ Δεσπότου, κατανοοῦσα ἡ Ἄγνη καὶ Παρθένος, ὀδυρομένη ἔλεγε δακρύουσα· Τέκνον ποθεινότατον, πῶς θανεῖν ᾑρετίσω; πῶς δὲ τεθανάτωσαι, τῶν κακούργων ἐν μέσῳ, ὁ κατὰ φύσιν δίκαιος Θεός; Δοξολογῶ σου, Υἱὲ τὸ μακρόθυμον. |
When the pure Virgin perceived the voluntary slaughter of the Master, grieving she said with tears: 'My Child so deeply loved, why have you chosen to die? Why are you condemned to death among evil-doers, you by nature the just God? O my Son, I glorify your long-suffering'. [Lash] |

Ταχὺ προκατάλαβε, πρὶν δουλωθῆναι ἡμᾶς, ἐχθροῖς βλασφημοῦσί σε, καὶ ἀπειλοῦσιν ἡμῖν, Χριστὲ ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν· ἄνελε τῷ Σταυρῷ σου, τοὺς ἡμᾶς πολεμοῦντας· γνώτωσαν πῶς ἰσχύει, Ὀρθοδόξων ἡ πίστις, πρεσβείαις τῆς Θεοτόκου, μόνε φιλάνθρωπε. |
Come quickly, O Lord, and keep us from becoming enslaved * to foes who speak blasphemies against You, Christ our God, * and boastfully threaten us. * Annihilate by the power of Your Cross those who fight us. * Let them know how the faith of the Orthodox has power. * Only benevolent God, accept Your Mother’s prayers for us. [SD] |

Σταυρῷ σε προσήλωσαν, οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι Σωτήρ, διʼ οὗ ἐκ τῶν ἐθνῶν ἡμᾶς, ἀνεκαλέσω ποτέ, Χριστὲ ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν, ἥπλωσας τὰς παλάμας, ἐν αὐτῷ τῇ βουλῇ σου, λόγχῃ δὲ τὴν πλευράν σου, κατεδέξω νυγῆναι, τῷ πλήθει τῶν οἰκτιρμῶν σου, φιλάνθρωπε δόξα σοι. |
The Jews nailed you to a Cross, O Saviour, through which you summoned us of old from among the nations, Christ our God; on it you stretched out your hands by your own wish, and in the multitude of your mercies you deigned that your side be pierced by a lance, O only lover of mankind. [Lash] |

Virgin most pure, Mother of Christ God, a sword passed through your all-holy soul when you saw your Son and God willingly crucified. Do not cease, O blessed one, to implore him to grant us pardon of offences. [Lash] |

In your limitless mercy, you willingly endured Cross and death for us, O Good One, and the unjust judgement, that You might free from condemnation and the ancient curse all who had perished through deception; therefore, O Word, we too worship your Crucifixion. [Lash] |

Today the hosts of Angels are present to enlighten the minds of the faithful at the memory of the Champions and to make the whole world bright with grace; besought through them, O God, grant us your great mercy. [Lash] |

O Word of God, when your immaculate Mother saw you raised upon the Cross, lamenting as a mother, she cried out: 'What is this strange new wonder, my Son? How can you, the life of all, be acquainted with death, who wish to give life to the dead as you are compassionate?' [Lash] |

Ὅτι τὴν ἀνομίαν μου ἐγὼ γινώσκω, καὶ ἡ ἁμαρτία μου ἐνώπιόν μού ἐστι διὰ παντός. Ῥῦσαί με ἐξ αἱμάτων, ὁ Θεός, ὁ Θεὸς τῆς σωτηρίας μου· ἀγαλλιάσεται ἡ γλῶσσά μου τὴν δικαιοσύνην σου. Κύριε, τὰ χείλη μου ἀνοίξεις καὶ τὸ στόμα μου ἀναγγελεῖ τὴν αἴνεσίν σου. Ὅτι εἰ ἠθέλησας θυσίαν, ἔδωκα ἄν· ὁλοκαυτώματα οὐκ εὐδοκήσεις. Θυσία τῷ Θεῷ πνεῦμα συντετριμμένον· καρδίαν συντετριμμένην καὶ τεταπεινωμένην ὁ Θεὸς οὐκ ἐξουδενώσει. Ἀγάθυνον, Κύριε, ἐν τῇ εὐδοκίᾳ σου τὴν Σιὼν καὶ οἰκοδομηθήτω τὰ τείχη Ἰερουσαλήμ. Τότε εὐδοκήσεις θυσίαν δικαιοσύνης, ἀναφορὰν καὶ ὁλοκαυτώματα. Τότε ἀνοίσουσιν ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριόν σου μόσχους. |
Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy; and according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgression. Wash me thoroughly from my lawlessness and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my lawlessness, and my sin is always before me. Against You only have I sinned and done evil in Your sight; that You may be justified in Your words, and overcome when You are judged. For behold, I was conceived in transgressions, and in sins my mother bore me. Behold, You love truth; You showed me the unknown and secret things of Your wisdom. You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; You shall wash me, and I will be made whiter than snow. You shall make me hear joy and gladness; my bones that were humbled shall greatly rejoice. Turn Your face from my sins, and blot out all my transgressions. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with Your guiding Spirit. I will teach transgressors Your ways, and the ungodly shall turn back to You. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall greatly rejoice in Your righteousness. O Lord, You shall open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise. For if You desired sacrifice, I would give it; You will not be pleased with whole burnt offerings. A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit, a broken and humbled heart God will not despise. Do good, O Lord, in Your good pleasure to Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built; then You will be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, with offerings and whole burnt offerings; then shall they offer young bulls on Your altar. The Church is shining brilliantly today as she glorifies you, the preacher of the true faith and the support of martyr athletes. Since you have confidence in prayer, we who extol you ask you to implore Christ, to preserve us in perfect peace, O glorious Martyr who suffered much. [SD] |
