God is the Lord, and He revealed Himself to us. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. [SAAS] |
αʹ. |
Verse 1: Give thanks to the Lord and call upon His holy name. |
βʹ. |
Verse 2: All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I defended myself against them. |
γʹ. |
Verse 3: And this came about from the Lord, and it is wonderful in our eyes. |

Let the heavens sing for joy, and let everything on earth be glad. For with His Arm the Lord has worked power. He trampled death under foot by means of death; and He became the firstborn from the dead. From the maw of Hades He delivered us; and He granted the world His great mercy. [SD] |

Unto you who mediated the salvation of our race we sing praises, O Virgin Theotokos. For your Son and our God in the flesh that He assumed from you accepted suffering by means of crucifixion and has thereby set us free from corruption, in His love for man. [SD] |

Christ has risen from the dead, the first of those who have fallen asleep. The Artificer of all things that were made was first born before all creation; now He has renewed the corrupted nature of our human race in himself. O Death, no longer have you dominion, for the Master of all has destroyed your power. [SD] |

When You had physically tasted death, O Lord, You curtailed its bitterness by Your resurrection, and You strengthened humanity against it, by reversing the failure related to the primal curse, O Defender of our life. Glory to You, O Lord. [SD] |

When the hosts of the Angels saw how You were accounted among the dead, they all marveled. You, O Savior, are the One who destroyed the might of death; and when You arose You raised Adam with yourself and from Hades liberated everyone. [SD] |

“Why do you mingle the ointments with your tears full of pity, O women disciples?” Thus the Angel who was shining in the tomb cried to the myrrh-bearing women. “See for yourselves the empty tomb and understand, that the Savior has risen from the sepulcher.” |

Very early in the morning, the myrrh-bearing women were hastening to Your tomb lamenting. But the Angel appeared to them and uttered, “The time for lamentation has ended; weep no more. Go announce the Resurrection to the Apostles.” |

When the myrrh-bearing women had come with their spices to Your sepulcher, O Savior, they heard the voice of an Angel clearly speaking to them, “Why do you account among the dead the One who lives? For as God, He has risen from the sepulcher.” |

On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and place my finger in the mark of the nails, and place my hand in his side, I will not believe.” Eight days later, his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. The doors were shut, but Jesus came and stood among them, and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side; do not be faithless, but believing.” Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.” Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name. |
Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy; and according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgression. |
Wash me thoroughly from my lawlessness and cleanse me from my sin. |
For I know my lawlessness, and my sin is always before me. |
Against You only have I sinned and done evil in Your sight; that You may be justified in Your words, and overcome when You are judged. |
For behold, I was conceived in transgressions, and in sins my mother bore me. |
Behold, You love truth; You showed me the unknown and secret things of Your wisdom. |
You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; You shall wash me, and I will be made whiter than snow. |
You shall make me hear joy and gladness; my bones that were humbled shall greatly rejoice. |
Turn Your face from my sins, and blot out all my transgressions. |
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. |
Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. |
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with Your guiding Spirit. |
I will teach transgressors Your ways, and the ungodly shall turn back to You. |
Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall greatly rejoice in Your righteousness. |
O Lord, You shall open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise. |
For if You desired sacrifice, I would give it; You will not be pleased with whole burnt offerings. |
A sacrifice to God is a broken spirit, a broken and humbled heart God will not despise. |
Do good, O Lord, in Your good pleasure to Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built. |
Then You will be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, with offerings and whole burnt offerings. |
Then shall they offer young bulls on Your altar. And have mercy on me, O God. [SAAS] |

Let us possessed of a godly mind, * observing this divine and all-venerable feast in honor of * the Theotokos, come clap our hands, * while glorifying God who was truly born of her. [SD] |

Godly-minded three * did not adore created things * in the Creator's stead, * but bravely trampling upon * the threat of the furnace fire chanted joyfully: * "O supremely praised * and most exalted Lord and God * of the fathers, You are blessed." [SD] |

Pious Servants stood within the furnace. * The Son of the Theotokos went and rescued them. * He who was prefigured then, * manifestly active now, * is gathering together the entire universe * to sing the hymn: * "O praise and supremely * exalt the Lord, O all you His works, unto the ages." [SD] |

John. 20:19 – 31 |

It was an awful sight when You, the Maker, * were hanging on the Cross, O Logos of God, * in the body suffering, O God, for Your servants; * When You expired, You were laid in a sepulcher, * and You freed the dead who were in Hades. * We magnify You, for You, O Savior Christ, are omnipotent. [SD] |

When You had died and were buried, O Christ, * You saved our ancestors from death and corruption. * You made life to blossom forth, granting resurrection * to all the dead; and You led human nature to light * and clothed it with divine incorruption. * We magnify You, for You are the source of ever-living light. |
With hymns, O believers, let us praise * the divine Apostle Luke. * He was a wise Gospel writer, a disciple of the Lord, * and a living image * of the Chosen Vessel Paul, * he publicized the wonders of God. And now all churches honor him. * He enlightened us who dwell on earth, * through divine grace, * with rays of theology. [SD] |
Verse: His proclamation went forth into all the earth, and his words to the ends of the world. [SAAS] |
|
You mastered the medicine of souls * even better than of bodies; and, inspired by God’s wisdom, you appeared adept in both. * Healing souls and bodies, * O all-blest Apostle Luke, * you call us all to spiritual knowledge, every day and lift us up * to the heavens, to the love for God; * and you pray Him * for all those who honor you. [SD] |
Verse: The heavens declare the glory of God; the firmament shows the creation of His hands. [SAAS] |
|
O all-blessed Luke, using your words * like a hook, you drew to Christ those, who like fish had sunk down into the depth of ignorance, * up to godly knowledge, * thus procuring for yourself * the worthy wage of honor, and they received undying endless life, * O Apostle, wise Evangelist, * and the author * of Acts and the actions of grace. |
Let us the Faithful come together, and with songs let us cry out to Luke, that mystical preacher of the Word, using the words of David: “Your tongue became the pen of Christ, the swift-writing scribe. It made the faces of the Gentiles beautiful, when they received divine knowledge. With your tongue you preached the Gospel. You wrote the Acts of your fellow Apostles. Now, as you stand in the presence of God the Trinity, intercede for our souls.” [SD] |

You are supremely blessed, O Virgin Theotokos. For through Him who from you became incarnate was Hades taken prisoner, and Adam has been summoned back; the curse has been neutralized, and Eve has been liberated; death has been put to death, and we have been brought to life. Therefore extolling we cry out: O Christ our God, You are blessed, for so was Your good pleasure. Glory to You! [SD] |

Lord, You have been our refuge from generation to generation. I said: Lord, have mercy on me. Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You. |
