In Your kingdom. Remember us, O Lord, when You come in Your kingdom. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [RSV]

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. [RSV]

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. [RSV]

Διὰ ξύλου ὁ Ἀδάμ, Παραδείσου γέγονεν ἄποικος, διὰ ξύλου δὲ Σταυροῦ, ὁ Λῃστὴς Παράδεισον ᾤκησεν· ὁ μὲν γὰρ γευσάμενος, ἐντολὴν ἠθέτησε τοῦ ποιήσαντος, ὁ δὲ συσταυρούμενος, Θεὸν ὡμολόγησε τὸν κρυπτόμενον. Μνήσθητί μου βοῶν, ἐν τῇ Βασιλείᾳ σου.

Through a tree Adam became an exile from Paradise; but through the tree of the Cross the Thief made his home in Paradise, for the former through tasting set aside his Maker’s commandment, while the latter, crucified with him, confessed the hidden God, as he cried, 'Remember me in your kingdom'. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. [RSV]

The Powers of heaven, at a loss through fear, were amazed seeing you stretched on the Cross, O only Long-suffering; the earth was shaken and the beauty of the great lights was quenched; Adam the condemned was justified when you were judged unjustly, O Lover of mankind, and he praised your loving kindness. [Lash]

Μακάριοι ἐστὲ ὅταν ὀνειδίσωσιν ὑμᾶς, καὶ διώξωσι, καὶ εἴπωσι πᾶν πονηρὸν ῥῆμα καθʼ ὑμῶν, ψευδόμενοι ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ.

Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely [for my sake]. [RSV]

Lifted up on Calvary you destroyed the curse of the foe; by dying on the Tree you gave life to those who had died through the fruit of the tree, O Master, and declared them citizens of Paradise, who ceaselessly sing your praise, Christ our God, and cry to you: Remember us also in your kingdom. [Lash]

Χαίρετε καὶ ἀγαλλιᾶσθε, ὅτι ὁ μισθὸς ὑμῶν πολὺς ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven. [RSV]

Holy Martyrs, having taken up the Cross as a weapon you marched out with noble intent against the ranks of the foe, and having destroyed them you were garlanded with victors’ wreaths and gained glory and divine splendour, O admirable ones; therefore with faith we all call you blest. [Lash]

The wholly uncontainable dwelt without constraint in your holy womb, O Mother of God, immaculate Lady, and by dying on a Tree became a source of life for the world. Implore him to slay our carnal thoughts and save us all as he loves mankind. [Lash]

Εἶπεν ὁ Κύριος· ὁ μὴ ὢν μετ᾿ ἐμοῦ κατ᾿ ἐμοῦ ἐστι, καὶ ὁ μὴ συνάγων μετ᾿ ἐμοῦ σκορπίζει. The Lord said, “He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters. When the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places seeking rest; and finding none he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes he finds it swept and put in order. Then he goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first.” [RSV]

Ἄξιόν ἐστιν ὡς ἀληθῶς μακαρίζειν σε τὴν Θεοτόκον, τὴν ἀειμακάριστον καὶ παναμώμητον καὶ μητέρα τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν. Τὴν τιμιωτέραν τῶν Χερουβεὶμ καὶ ἐνδοξοτέραν ἀσυγκρίτως τῶν Σεραφείμ, τὴν ἀδιαφθόρως Θεὸν Λόγον τεκοῦσαν, τὴν ὄντως Θεοτόκον, σὲ μεγαλύνομεν.

It is truly right to call you blessed, who gave birth to God, ever-blessed and most pure, and Mother of our God. Greater in honour than the Cherubim and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Word; truly the Mother of God, we magnify you.

Εἴδομεν τὸ φῶς τὸ ἀληθινόν, ἐλάβομεν Πνεῦμα ἐπουράνιον, εὕρομεν πίστιν ἀληθῆ, ἀδιαίρετον Τριάδα προσκυνοῦντες· αὕτη γὰρ ἡμᾶς ἔσωσεν.

We have seen the true light; we have received the heavenly Spirit; we have found the true faith, worshiping the undivided Trinity, for the Trinity has saved us.

May Christ our true God, through the intercessions of His all-pure and all-immaculate holy Mother, the power of the precious and life-giving Cross, the protection of the honorable, bodiless powers of heaven, the supplications of the honorable, glorious prophet and forerunner John the Baptist, of the holy, glorious, and praiseworthy apostles, of the holy, glorious, and triumphant martyrs, of our righteous and God-bearing fathers, (local patron saint); of the holy and righteous ancestors of God Joachim and Anna, and the holy hieromartyr Zenobius and his sister Zenobia, whose memory we observe, and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, as He is good, benevolent, and merciful God.
